Here are the answers...

1. Xena the warrior princess (one of my favorite action TV shows of yesteryears along with Street Hawk, Knightrider and Remington Steel...) played by Lucy Lawless (Lucille Frances Ryan)

2. The guy in the first pic is Bill Watterson, the creator of Calvin and Hobbes. The character names were inspired from Historical figures John Calvin and Thomas Hobbes (in the subsequent pics)

The connect is Calvin and Hobbes.

3. The first ever airmail.

4. X is the Film Festival at Cannes
Y is the film festival at Venice

5. X = Fight
Y = Club
